Export to Sweden seminar in Honduras

We recently paid a visit to Honduras to hold an “Export to Sweden seminar” in Tegucigalpa on April 25. The seminar was hosted by COHEP (the Honduran National Business Council) and the Honduran Ministry of Foreign Affairs and focused on three sectors; agribusiness, textiles and forestry. Swedish experts informed the participants (about 25 emerging exporters) on EU trade policy, sector-specific rules and regulations and on market opportunities in Sweden. From the Honduran side, a trade policy expert presented the Honduran perspective on the new trade agreement between Central America and the EU and finally IHCAFE, a coffee exporter organisation, shared their experiences in trade with Sweden and the EU. After the seminar, we scheduled individual meetings with the participants, in order to discuss the interest of each specific company.

During our visit to Honduras, we also made two company visits to fruit and vegetable producers in the region. This to get a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing current exports.
