Open Trade Gate Sweden at the European Development Days
11/2/2009
Open Trade Gate Sweden participated at the European Development Days in Stockholm/Älvsjö from 22-24 of October 2009. The European Development Days was a very successful event with more than 7,000 visitors and speakers, among them the president of the European Commission José Manuel Durão Barroso, the prime minster of Kenya Raila Odinga as well as the Nobel peace prize winner of 2007 and current Director General of the Energy Resources Institute in New Dehli Rajendra Kumar Pachauri.
The European Development Days aims to make development aid more effective, to build a global coalition against poverty and to establish sustainable long term strategies. Through frank and sometimes controversial debates on pressing issues, such as governance, poverty and environmental sustainability, the European Development Days provide unprecedented opportunities for sharing ideas and launching innovative partnerships.
From Open Trade Gate's perspective, it was also interesting to hear discussions on how free and fair trade is becoming a key factor for economic growth and to see the increasing general awareness that exists about trade and development issues.
Open Trade Gate Sweden would like to thank all of you who visited our stand. We hope you found the European Development Days as interesting and as worthwhile as we did. We look forward to seeing you soon again.
