Export to Sweden-seminar in Moldova

On May 26, Open Trade Gate Sweden together with MIEPO, the Moldovan Investment & Export Promotion Organisation of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, arranged a seminar in the capital Chisinâu. The event was opened by Mr. Iurie Muntean, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade and H.E. Mr. Mats Åberg, Ambassador of Sweden to Moldova. After the initial remarks Mr. Andrei Timus, Executive Director of MIEPO, talked about how MIEPO can assist exporting companies.

The invited companies represented mainly the agro and the textile sector, two of Moldova’s main export industries. Approximately 70 participants came to the seminar and many showed interest in exploring business possibilities in the Swedish market.

Mrs. Sonia Albarello, Executive Director, talked about Open Trade Gate Sweden and the available services for exporters. Mr. Börje Risinggård, Senior Advisor, presented information about export opportunities in the Swedish market, and Ms. Åsa Christiansson, Trade Advisor, talked about rules and requirements for products when exporting to the EU.

In addition, the Swedish Trade Council was invited to speak about how to export to new markets, and two Moldovan companies, Moldovan Wine Guild and LION-GRI Ltd, talked about their experiences of exporting to the EU.
